During the past 24 hours, IDF forces under Southern Command, both regular and reserve, from the 98th, 162nd, and 36th Divisions, began a wide-scale ground operation throughout Gaza City as part of Operation “Gideon’s Chariots B”.
Forces from the Gaza Division (143) are operating in the security area facing the communities of the western Negev and are conducting offensive activity in the Rafah and Khan Yunis areas, while forces from the 99th Division are operating in the northern part of the Strip.
The offensive activity is extensive, intensified, and constitutes a direct continuation of the achievements of Operation Gideon’s Chariots, with the aim of achieving the objectives of the war in the Gaza Strip and deepening the gains within the fighting framework.
The forces’ activity began according to the operational plan and is expected to expand in accordance with the assessment of the situation.
In the past week, the Air Force has struck more than 850 terror targets and hundreds of terrorists in Gaza City, in order to damage the terror infrastructure of the Hamas terror organization and prepare the area for the entry of the forces.
