This is what Geagea wrote:
The framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, the formulation of which was overseen by President Joseph Aoun, in coordination and consultation with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, is the most important political step the Lebanese state has taken in about fifty years, aiming to rescue Lebanon and its citizens from the tragic crisis and its consequences, which were caused by the various “resistances” that have operated in the south of the country over the years.
As for those who woke up today and are shouting: “This is a civil war” (referring to the head of the Shiite Amal Movement👆 Nabih Berri–AA), it would be better for them to remember that the real civil war was when the Taif Agreement was implemented in the security and military spheres only on some parties, but not on others, with flimsy excuses that convinced no one.
This is the greatest opportunity Lebanon has been given to break free from the tragic reality in which it has lived for the past fifty years. We must all seize it and stand behind our legitimate government in order to emerge from the crisis as quickly as possible, instead of wasting time on slogans and acts of heroism whose time has passed and which all Lebanese are already weary of.
