Last night, members of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (AMB), affiliated with Fatah, took to the streets in various cities across the West Bank to assert their presence and show support for Fatah officials who were mistreated and expelled from a funeral of Palestinian militants killed in the recent military operation in Jenin.
AMB militants displayed their power in Qalqilya, Salafit, Tubas, Hebron, Yatta, Ramallah, and other cities, intending to reinforce the weakened Palestinian Authority (PA) regime amidst the increasing influence of the Islamic Jihad and Hamas, who fought against the IDF in Jenin and carried out several shooting attacks in the West Bank following the clashes there, respectively.
With this context and internal pressure in mind, channels associated with Fatah allege that the Fatah leadership authorized Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades to conduct attacks against the “enemy” (referring to the IDF and Israelis).
