The Gaza Municipality has reported that the thick smoke surrounding Gaza City over the past few days is a consequence of a fire that ignited at the waste disposal site in Juhr al-Deek, located southeast of Gaza City near the border area.
Residents of Gaza are concerned about the health repercussions of this fire. It can be presumed that neighboring Israeli communities are also being impacted.
Efforts to combat the fire are ongoing.
