Ayman Mansour, also known as Abu Atiya, held the position of Deputy Commander in Hamas’ Northern Brigade, and was killed in a shooting incident yesterday along with his son.
The shooter, Eid Mansour, was also a Hamas militant and happened to be the nephew of the Hamas commander. Eid targeted his own uncle after he accused him of collaborating with Israel and causing the deaths of multiple Hamas officers. Despite being initially arrested, Eid was eventually released after his innocence was proven. However, driven by a thirst for revenge, he went on to murder his uncle and cousin.
In the aftermath of the shooting, a Hamas force, reportedly including one of Ayman’s sons, surrounded the shooter’s residence and fatally shot him.
