As the intensity of the conflict escalates in southern Idlib (according to Syrian officials, the region is witnessing the most severe fighting since 2020), Iranian Ababeel-3 drones were observed in the skies over the area yesterday.
According to Syrian sources, the Iranian drones were deployed during an artillery assault in the Jabal al-Zawiya and Fatira areas (see attached map) and relayed real-time data on the accuracy of the strikes. Some reports suggest that these drones possess laser targeting capabilities, can remain airborne for up to 4 hours, reach altitudes of 15,500 feet, and even carry bombs.
