Elias Bou Saab, the Deputy Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, who was one of the leading Lebanese politicians involved in the negotiations with Israel, said the following in an interview with the Lebanese al-Mayadeen:
Lebanon achieved more in the agreement than the other side (Israel – Abu Ali), even according to them.
We have comments regarding the wording of the final agreement, which we will submit within 24-48 hours.
Lebanon will not pay reparations to the Israeli enemy (referring to reports on the final agreement, according to which Lebanon will pay Israel for its part in the Qana gas field since the emerging border, based off of line 23, passes through it – Abu Ali).
Lebanon had the advantage in negotiations in the form of a unified position and “a power known to all” (referring to Hezbollah – Abu Ali).
