I marked with red arrows the main directions of the movement of the IDF ground forces so far in the northern sector of the Gaza Strip and Gaza City since the ground campaign began.
1. From the north of the Gaza Strip south.
2. From the west of Gaza City to the east.
3. From east to west – creating the division.

In short, the area of Gaza City was attacked from three sides.
There has been no ground movement so far from the direction of the border to the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City (Shejaiya).
This is different from the IDF’s last land entry in 2014, when the IDF only reached the outskirts of Gaza through the Shejaiya neighborhood (where Oron Shaul’s body was kidnapped).

Many Palestinian channels reported unprecedented artillery fire by the IDF in the area of the Shejaiya neighborhood (the direction of the artillery fire is marked in blue) after the Shejaiya Hamas military base was destroyed yesterday.

Shejaiya is now receiving “special treatment”.
