Notably, among those apprehended is Maher al-Akhras, a high-ranking figure within the Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and a resident of Jenin.
Previously subjected to administrative detention in Israel, al-Akhras embarked on a hunger strike for over 100 days before being eventually released, as reported by Palestinian sources.
Following his arrest this evening, al-Akhras promptly declared that he is starting a new hunger strike.
